TelBru holds ‘Let’s Shop’ Campaign

Shoppers hustled and bustled their way through Gadong’s popular commercial destinations as TelBru treated 500 of its loyal customers to a day of non-stop fun and games during the ‘Let’s Shop’ campaign held at The Mall yesterday.

The event, part of TelBru’s annual ‘Let’s’ campaign that began in 2005, saw about 250 teams gather at the concourse area of The Mall as early as 6.30am before setting out on a quest to solve as many riddles and questions scattered around the area. Each team was represented by two shoppers, who were drawn from over 6,000 contest forms submitted throughout the ‘Let’s Shop’ campaign.

Using ‘shopper’s cards’ that were given away for every $20 spent on TelBru’s products or services since the campaign began on March 1, shoppers raced against each other to submit as many answers and solutions to 25 ‘Let’s Shop’ checkout terminals located in the area to obtain shopping points.

The first place winners of the ‘Let’s Shop’ competition, Muhd Nur Eman bin Ismail and Nur Azmil bin Ismail, won a four-day, three-night shopping trip to Hong Kong complete with shopping cash, while second-placed Hjh Norhaidah binti Hj Baha and Ak Mohd Sharul Izwan bin Pg Rosli won a four-day, three night shopping trip to Singapore, together with shopping cash.

Third-placed winners Norazlinawati Hj A. Magon and Khairol Akramin bin Ahmad Tajudin meanwhile won a four-day, three-night shopping trip to Kuala Lumpur with shopping cash included.

Presenting the prizes to the top three winners was the guest of honor, Dato Paduka Hj Othman Hj Yaakub, the Chairman of the board of directors at TelBru.

The remaining shoppers meanwhile won a variety of consolation prizes.

Throughout the event, the general public and participants alike were treated to a host of performances from award winners of this year’s Pelangi Awards, including A Band Once and Fakhrul Razi. Mini-games were also catered to children while the games ensued.

‘Let’s Shop’ is a continuation of TelBru’s annual ‘Let’s’ series of promotional events that started in 2005 with ‘Let’s Fly’, where winners took home three return air tickets to Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Full amount bill payers took part in a lucky dip where winners were given tickets to a variety of blockbuster movies during the ‘Let’s Watch’ campaign in 2006. In 2007, loyal TelBru customers, ran, swam, solved clues, raced and outwitted each other during the ‘Let’s Race’ campaign, followed by the ‘Let’s Cruise’ campaign in 2008 where the top three winners were given cruise holiday packages to embark on.
