Telekom Brunei Berhad is taking the lead to develop Brunei Darussalam’s national fiber broadband network nationwide over the next few years. At yesterday’s signing ceremony, TelBru and Pea’s Company Sdn Bhd, a local company providing professional consultancy services through its consortium partners, Ericsson Telecommunications Pte Ltd and IDIFYNETZ Sdn Bhd, signed a contract which covers the consultancy services for the masterplan.

The Managing Director of TelBru, Mr Song Kin Koi and Hj Roslan Othman, the Project Manager signed on the agreement with Pea’s Company Sdn Bhd as presented by Mr Pea Chong Heng and with Mr Richard Chow, Senior Sales Manager of Ericsson Telecommunications Pte Ltd as witness. The ceremony was also witnessed by Datuk Ku Jaafar bin Ku Shaari, Malaysia High Commissioner to Brunei, and other senior officers from both companies.

The master-planning exercise will enable TelBru to provide fiber infrastructure that will equip Brunei with a future-proof ultra-fast broadband network into premises with an initial provisioning of up to 100Megabits per second (Mbps). This high-speed network will be scalable to support up to 1Gigabits per second (Gbps).
